Gardai have launched an investigation following a serious assault in the capital.
The incident happened on the Haddington Road area of Dublin on Sunday afternoon.
The victim, a 51-year-old man, was set upon by a group of males as he walked along the road. He sustained serious head injuries.
Gardai are asking witnesses to contact Irishtown Garda Station 01 666 9600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
