Gardai have launched an investigation following the death of a young man after an assault in Kildare.
The incident happened in the Allenwood area of Kildare in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood that Gardai were called after an unresponsive male was spotted in the area. The male, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardai believe that the incident is connected to a collision between two vehicles that happened in the area earlier in the night.
