Gardai in Portlaoise have launched a major investigation this morning after two men were arrested last night after two pipebombs and a fully loaded glock pistol were discovered in a car on a motorway in the midlands.
It is believed that Gardaí arrested a man aged in his 40s and a teenager, who both are thought to be Polish nationals.
The two men were arrested at the scene, on the M7 near Mountrath and are currently being held in custody in Portlaoise Garda Station following the discovery.
