Strike action expected at Cadburys plant in Coolock next week, in a bid to prevent outsourcing of key jobs




Management at Cadbury’s in Coolock Dublin, have been informed that staff members will serving strike action next Thursday.

It is understood that employees at the plant are carrying out the work stoppages after a Labour Court recommendation, was implemented, even though SIPTU an Unite members disapproved.

The dispute comes as the company, now known by the name Mondelez, is said to be outsourcing the work of 17 employees based in the stores operation.

It is now believed that some 350 of 900 employees at the plant, will stop working next Thursday in the hope that the Labour Court recommendation be upheld in favour of new proposals.
