Gardaí in Cork have launched a murder investigation following the death of a homeless man in Mardyke Park.
It is understood the investigation comes after the man was found on a grass verge at approximately 1am this morning.
Gardaí investigating the incident say the man was found near a tent which was set on fire.
It is believed that the man had been badly beaten and was quickly rushed to hospital, but he sadly passed away in Cork University Hospital a short time later.
