Gardai are on high alert after a child was approached by a teenager in the Blackcourt Road, Corduff, Blanchardstown area of Dublin in recent days.
The teenager offered sweets and encouraged the child to go with him. The child turned the offer down and walked away.
Parents of junior and senior infants attending St. Patrick’s school have now received letters warning them of the sinister event.
Gardai are examining CCTV footage from the area in an effort to track down the individual.
