Operation Irene will see Garda forces deployed around locally well known drinking hotspots, in an effort to curb drinking around parks in beaches during the summer period.
The operation has been planned in response to some reported drink-related incidents over the last couple of summers.
According to reports,“Operation Irene is targeted to combat under-age alcohol consumption and consumption of alcohol in a public place. Gardai will enforce legislation regulating the sale, supply and consumption of alcohol as well as relevant public order legislation.
