Gardaí have released an image of a mask believed to have been used by the perpetrator who carried out a vicious assault on an elderly man.
The appeal for information comes after the man Paddy Hansard, was brutally attacked on his way home to Courtney Place in Ballybough, at approximately 12am on Saturday morning.
Gardaí say they believe that the the mask may have been discarded following the attack which left Mr Hansard in critical condition in hospital.
