GardaĆ have confirmed that a number of properties around the country have been searched as part of an operation investigating the distribution of child abuse images.
In a statement released on Thursday, GardaĆ confirmed that 31 properties were raided as part of operation Ketch.

It is understood that GardaĆ seized a number of items including computers, phones, iPads,Ā hard drives and other equipmentĀ believed to be child sex dolls during the raids.
GardaĆ say the second phase of the operation has been ongoing for the past number of days and a total of 31 people have been questioned including teenagers and pensioners.
It is thought that one raid alone seen GardaĆ seize terabytes of material that showed sexual abuse on young children.
GardaĆ say no official arrests have yet been made, but it is reported that at least nine admissions have been declared.
Officers have also prepared a number of files for the Director of Public Prosecutions during the operation which is still currently ongoing.
