Political correctness: British military criticised for having too many white people in senior positions

The UK military has come under criticism after it failed to reach its recruitment quota for black and Asian officers and all 132 senior officers in the British Army, Royal Navy and RAF are sadly still white, the UK’s Sun has revealed.

The top brass of the British armed forces has insisted that they will immediately draw up new plans to diversify the highest ranks of the UK military and the government has set a target of hiring 10% non-white recruits by 2020.

Earlier this year the British Armed Forces announced that officers would be assessed on how well they promoted inclusivity for those of a non-white background as well as those who are gay, and gender non-conforming the UK’s standard reported in April.

The British Army had been accused of being overly politically correct in its recruitment drive earlier this year after it focused its drive on recruiting homosexuals and Muslims the UK’s Guardian reported in January.
