Gardai separated two rival protests in Dublin city centre and one person was arrested, reports RTE.

A demonstration called Let the Women Speak is scheduled for midday in Merrion Square South. To counter the first, another demonstration was organized by the Trans Right Alliance.

There are approximately 400-500 protesters on either side of Merrion Square South and Garda barriers are approximately 50 meters apart, reports RTE.

There is a significant presence of police officers in the area, including police officers around Merrion Square Park and between the two teams.

Vane Garda Public Order Units also operate in the area.

At the corner of Merrion Square South and Merrion Square East, officers search the bags of people attending the Let the Women Speak rally.

Trans Right Alliance protesters chanted, turned on sirens and played music in an attempt to disrupt speeches at the Let the Women Speak rally.

They claim that the Let the Women Speak rally has a far-right element, reports RTE.
