Gardai still none the wiser to petrol bomb attack on Drogheda family which has left them homeless

In a disgusting attack on a Drogheda family as they slept in their beds on midnight Saturday, gardai are investigating after two petrol bombs were thrown through the couple’s living room window.

Speaking to the Irish Mirror yesterday, Catherine Devine said the explosion of the two petrol bombs woke her, her husband Vincent and their two children.

The mother first thought it was going to be impossible to get the family out safely, but with the help of their neighbours, all four managed to get out into the back of the Ballsgrove house’s garden.

My nerves are gone, I really thought I’d never make it out of that house. The explosion alone nearly got me a heart attack, I thought Id never get the children down that stairs, I never thought I’d see today, that’s the truth.”

Gardai have confirmed they are investigating the incident and appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information on what happened to contact them. The scene was examined by scenes of crime experts over the weekend.
