There were scenes like something out of a film across Ireland yesterday with people panic buying and bulk buying everything and anything that they can see.
There were scenes of people with mountains of food, drinks and supplies in their trolleys waiting, in some places, hours in the queue to get to the cashier.
The gardai are now being drafted out to supermarkets such as Tesco, Lidl, Aldi and SuperValu from this morning to stop people fighting in supermarkets and helping managers space out the amount of people who go into their shops at any one time.
