Gardai will be able to issue €100 on the spot fines to those who are found to breaking the 5km restriction rule.
Under the new guidelines Garda Officers will be allowed to issue the fines to those who break the 5km restrictions and refuse to turn back.
However the fines will not be issued to people who are travelling for essential reasons such as grocery shopping or travelling to work.
It is believed that the fines are being introduced to cut down on unnecessary travel during Level 5 restrictions.
