The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that he’s now gravely concerned with how the pandemic is evoling in the country and fears that things are going to get even worse over the coming days.
Holohan said that welcome government measures that would help reduce the consumption of alcohol in an effort to reduce the levels of community transmission of coronavirus in the country.
Latest analysis from NPHET’s modelling group shows that Ireland’s R number may now be as high as 3.
No doubt there’d be a very mixed reaction to Holohan’s suggestions should the government go through with such action.
