Dog owners along the Clonlara and Ardnacrusha areas of Co. Clare have been warned to keep dogs on their leash, as meat laced with poison has been detected.
It is understood that the poisonous substance was encased in sausage meat and deposited on the ground along some canal areas popular with dog walkers.
If you believe your dog may have ingested some of these harmful material, you are advised to seek vet care immediately, as the substances are understood to be fast-acting in some cases.
