Police in Berlin report that a car drove into a crowd, injuring multiple people.
A large-scale police response is ongoing in the city’s Tiergarten area—a major park of the same name—after a vehicle hit several individuals.
Officers are treating the injured at the location but have not disclosed the exact number of casualties.
Authorities are carrying out an intensive search for those believed to be responsible.
The park sits close to the path of the city’s LGBTQ+ pride event, known as the Christopher Street Day Parade. Police canceled the march and posted on X advising participants to leave the area at once.
A police spokesman said in a video posted on X: “We are now at the scene with a strong police presence and paramedics from the Berlin fire service and other organisations.
“A vehicle allegedly drove into the park and hit several people, apparently injuring them. This is why there are now several patients being treated by the Berlin fire service in the area of the Tiergarten.
“We are searching for possible suspects and will update when we have more information.”
