Garth Brooks might return to Ireland after all

Despite the concert mega fiasco last year, the country music star may pay the Emerald Isle a visit later in 2015.

There was a firestorm of controversy surrounding Garth Brooks’ planned concerts in Croke Park last summer, and all his gigs were eventually dropped after complaints from residents.

But it has now emerged that the singer may return to perform here at the tail end of his current tour.

Irish comedian Patrick Kielty recently interviewed Brooks as part of a BBC Radio 2 programme, but Brooks’ final comments were cut from the broadcast.

Kielty said: “We did talk about the Ireland thing, but because the show was going out on Radio 2 and there’s a lot of mainland country fans..

“He said: ‘Well it was one of those things, we couldn’t make it work’. And he was gutted and he wants to try and fit it back in the tour and all these things.

“But, did it make the final edit? Probably not.”

It was suggested last year that Brooks was considering returning to Ireland at some point this year.

We’ll just have to wait a little longer to find out.
