The regulator behind emoji’s have confirmed that a total of 117 new emoji’s will be added to devices this year.
Amongst the new changes a gender neutral santy and a man or gender neutral person wearing a veil will be added to the expanded library.
Although no official release date for the new emoji’s have been confirmed, Unicode Consortium say emoji’s such as a crying smiling face, the gender neutral flag and a woman or gender neutral person wearing a tuxedo will be available in the second part of 2020.
The list will also include an emoji for men feeding babies, a pair of lungs emoji and a boomerang.
It is expected that both Apple and Google will pick up the emoji’s for their upcoming ios and android devices
