General Election: Mary Lou McDonald calls for United Ireland referendum by 2025

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has said that an United Ireland referendum should be held in 2025.

According to RTÉ News, McDonald made the call whilst speaking at the party’s candidate launch earlier today.

The Sinn Féin told the onlookers that an all Ireland forum should be held before the holding of any referendum.

Speaking at the event McDonald also called on voters to give the party a chance and judge them on their performance.

She added that her party is offering an alternative to Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil who have done nothing but waste time and money whilst in charge of the State.
