George Floyd’s family has filed a $250m lawsuit against Kanye West over ‘false statements’ made by the rapper.
Mr. West recently changed his moniker to a more laconic ‘Ye’ for ‘personal reasons.’ Presumably, his tombstone will one day read ‘Yo, here lies Ye, a minister of the Lord. May God have mercy on Ye, y’all.’
The lawsuit arises from comments made by Ye during a podcast hosted by fellow acronym-crazed rappers N.O.R.E and DJ EFN. Ye’s comments implied that Mr. Floyd was not murdered by police officer Derek Chauvin, and that he died from fentanyl overdose instead.
Despite the name change, Mr. Ye has been slapped with a nice lawsuit that he was not yearning for.
