Ireland last held a stage of the Tour De France in 1998, however the government have confirmed that Ireland, in a joint north/south venture, will bid to hold stages of the Tour De France in either 2026 or 2027.
It’s understood that three stages will be held in Ireland, one in Dublin, one in Cork and one in Northern Ireland, should we be successful with the bid.
The government say that it would be incredible for tourism if we get the yellow vest for Ireland!
