The family of George Nkencho who was shot dead by an armed Garda last year reiterated their call for a public inquiry into the death.
George Nkencho was shot dead by a member of the Garda Armed Support Unit outside his home on Manorsfield Drive in Clonee, Dublin on December 30, 2020.
Tonight, family and friends will attend a vigil outside Blanchardstown Garda Station to celebrate the anniversary.
In a statement, the family said the past year has been a disaster since the 27-yr-old was shot dead.
That said that they were disappointed that the investigation by the Garda SÃochána Ombudsman’s Commission was still ongoing a year later and called for a public inquiry to start immediately.
