Ghislaine Maxwell has lost a court battle to block transcripts from a 2016 deposition from reaching the public, meaning fresh details of the accused child trafficker’s personal life and relationship with Jeffrey Epstein could come to light.
The US Court of Appeals denied appeals from Maxwell’s legal team to prevent the deposition from being released, and according to CNN the court ruled her arguments for blocking them were ‘meritless’. The deposition is from a 2015 defamation lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, who claims to have been a victim of Maxwell and Epstein’s international child sex ring.
In July Maxwell was charged with her involvement in the ongoing scandal, and her trial is scheduled for the summer of 2021. The media is hoping that the release of these deposition transcripts will give further insight into the sordid, elite world in which Maxwell and Epstein allegedly committed their depraved crimes.
