Six months after a federal judge ruled that Ghislaine Maxwell was a serious flight danger and ordered her arrest pending trial, the co-conspirator accused of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein plans to file a $28.5 million bail proposal for her immediately release from prison before the end of the year, ABC News reports.
More than $22 million of the assets pledged to secure the proposed bail offer will come from the combined funds of Maxwell and her husband. The rest is provided by a handful of close family and friends, a friend of Maxwell’s confirms.
The upcoming bail request, which is expected to be filed with US District Judge Alison Nathan in the coming days, will also be Maxwell’s first public confirmation that she is married, the person said.
