Gardaí in Cork City have confirmed that a nine-year-old girl has been injured after a tree fell on top of her this afternoon.

It is understood the young girl was injured when a tree landed on top of her whilst she was cycling her bike in the marina area with her family at approximately 4.30pm this afternoon.
The girl who sustained injuries to her hand and leg was rescued by three crews from the Cork City Fire Brigade.
Gardaí say the girl’s injuries are not life-threatening.
