The world’s oldest boy choir is being sued by a nine-year-old girl as she was not allowed to join as it is a boys’ choir.
The budding feminist auditioned with the Berlin State and Cathedral Choir, founded in 1465, but was turned down. The choir say she was rejected as she did not have the “desired sound” but the family of the girl say she was told “a girl will never sing in a boys’ choir.”
People with common sense have voiced support for the choir arguing that mixing male and female voices would bring an end to a centuries-old sound.
While feminists and progressives who are opposed to anything male only, have said that this beloved 554-year-old traditional boys’ choir must change with the times.
