If you bank with AIB, you will soon be able to walk into your branch later than usual, but only if you live in certain areas of the country.
The AIB branch in Dublin’s Grafton Street will now open seven days a week, and for longer hours. You can walk in from 8am to 7pm on weekdays (9pm on Fridays). Weekend hours will be 10am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday.
A new branch located in SuperValu in Lucan, Co Dublin, will also have similar opening hours.
Staff will receive shift allowances of between 10-13% while working a five-day, 37-hour week. It is understood that staff will be offered to volunteer for the extended working hours.
Bank sources confirmed that new branches at Carrickmines Retail Park, Grand Canal Dock and Cork’s Little Island outlet will also have extended opening hours.
