There was good news for first time buyers today as the newly begin help-to-buy scheme will take applications from today onwards.
The new Govrnmemt scheme will reportedly help first-time buyers intending on buying a newly built home by giving them a tax refund worth up to 5% towards their deposit.
Although the scheme has been welcomed by many it has faced criticism from opposition parties in the Dáil who say the scheme will cause house prices rise by as much as 20% this year.
