Although the French air-traffic control strike is affecting its passengers this and next week, Ryanair has decided to cut its checked-in bag fees…. literally hours after they had increased them!
From today, passengers on all domestic flights under two hours will see their checked-in fees cut by 50%, while passengers on flights under three hours will see a decrease of 17%. Passengers on flights that are longer than three hours will see no change in their fees.
The cost of a checked-in bag weighing 15kg used to €30, but that’ll drop down to €15 from today for a flight, for example, going from Dublin to Gatwick. The cost of a bag weighing 20kg will drop from €40 down to €25.
This is good news for a lot of students in particular who regularly use the service over and back studying in various UK universities.
Passengers will be able to book their checked-in bag up to 3 hours prior to take-off via the Ryanair app.
