There was good news for Irish tourism recently as Ballyfin Demesne, in County Laois was named the world’s No.1 hotel.
The five star luxury accommodation came on top against the rest of the world after the influential US travel magazine, Conde Nast name it as the best place to stay and visit on the planet.
The major honour was a welcome boost for Tourism Ireland as the country had three hotels named in the magazine’s top ten, with Waterford Castle and The Lodge at Ashford Castle in County Mayo taking 7th and 9th place respectively.
