There was good news for residents in rural towns today as the EU commission confirmed that free wireless broadband will be rolled out in Irish towns and cities over the next three years.
The news which will be welcomed by millions of Irish residents comes after athe Europeanent, the EU Commission and the EU Council of Ministers agreed a new multi- million euro plan that will see super fast and reliable broadband being provided in 8,000 urban areas across the continent.
Although many towns and cities in Ireland do have free wireless broadband the service is considered to be outdated with signals being rather weak.
