There was some good news for nearly half a million Medical Card holders today as prescription fees were reduced.
Under the new changes card holders will be charged €2 per item rather than the original €2.50 per item.
The new pricing will also see the monthly cap reduced from €25 to €20.
It is thought the new changes are being implemented by the Department of Health who are aiming to cut prescription fees on an annual basis.
