There was good news for parents of young children this week as the National Transport Authority confirmed that all children under the age of five can travel for free on public transport.
The news comes as the NTA say they are looking to improve fares for young families. It is understood that all children under the age five can travel on trains, the luas and both Bus Eireann and Dublin Buses for free.
Speaking about the move a NTA spokesperson said the Authority has been working hard since 2014 to offer better conditions and fares for all users but in particular young families.
The spokesperson added it is widely known that fares can be quite costly for people who have young children and they now hope that the scrapping of fees for those under five will be beneficial for parents looking to make a daily commute.
