At last there appears to be some much needed rent relief for tenants.
The Dail has voted in favour of a Bill that has called for an immediate rent freeze. The Bill was passed by 83 to 36 votes on Thursday afternoon.
It’s understood the new legislation would see a rent freeze for three years and would call for tax rebate for tenants.
The Bill has passed its second stage and will not move onto the review committee.
The Bill is now expected to be reviewed before it is passed through the Seanad.
