A Russian couple were reunited with the son they had been led to believe had been dead for seven years.
The boy was born in 2011, and his parents were told the baby would not survive longer than a few days. They chose to leave the baby at a medical facility, but returned several days later to fetch him, only to be informed that the boy had passed away.
Life went on, and seven years later court bailiffs visited the couple to ask for money for the boy’s care. The child had been alive all along, and living at a care home.
According to Russian media, the care home was looking for back payments of up to $4,000 (about 230,000 rubles), an astronomical amount for the average Russian.
The child is now reportedly back with his rightful parents, who are facing a hefty bill.
