Shocking: Two people arrested after a 2-yr-old boy is killed whilst his 6-yr-old brother is injured in a hit and run incident

Police in the UK have launched an investigation this evening after two young boys were struck by a vehicle in Coventry earlier today.

According to reports in the UK a two year old has sadly died following the incident, whilst his six year old brother currently remains in serious in condition in hospital.

It is believed the two young children were struck by a car understood to be a black Ford Focus on the Longsfellow Road in the city.

Police have since confirmed that a 53 year old man and a 41 year old woman have since been arrested after their car was found abandoned a short time later.

They say both individuals have been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, a spokesman for the West Midlands Police also said the scene currently remains closed off whilst a forensic examination takes place.
