A mother is cradling her baby today after giving birth on a train from Galway to Dublin shortly after 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Passengers assisted the unidentified lady who was assisted by medical personnel when they boarded the train after an emergency stop.
Thank God it’s a good news story and all ended well with both mother and baby doing very well. A passenger on the train told The Liberal:
“The baby is a beautiful little girl. Her mother was panicking initially as it was quite surreal but she did tremendously well and passengers did what they could to help her any way they could. The whole thing was really wonderful and the little baby was born on the train”.
It’s understood that Irish Rail were delighted with the news and although the lady’s name isn’t being made public, they will offer her free travel with her little girl should she need it.
