It was a good night for the Irish last night as the smash hit movie Brooklyn was named outstanding British film at the BAFTAs.
The multi-award winning and Oscar nominee by John Crowley won the first award of the night which was quickly followed by further Irish success as Brie Larson was named best actress for her role in Irish directed film Room.
Larson won the award after beating off stiff competition from Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, who had been nominated for her role in Brooklyn.
Meanwhile Leonardo DiCaprio took the best leading actor Bafta for his performance in The Revenant, which also won two more awards for best film and the best director, for Alejandro González Iñárritu.
