The Government have approved new legislation that will ban evictions for the next seven weeks.
Under the new legislation tenants cannot be evicted from their homes whilst the country is in Level 5 restrictions.
The new legislation which was brought before the Dail, will also not allow landlords to evict tenants for ten days after Level 5 restrictions are lifted.
It is understood the new legislation will now be re-enacted in the future if there is any restrictions introduced that prohibits a person from travelling 5km from their home.
