You may get an unexpected call from Irish Water in the near future, and the voice at the other end of the phone may demand payment, or else.
Irish Water have begun a desperate last-ditch call and threat campaign in order to get people to pay their water bill. And the Government seems to be going along with this scare tactic.
Jobs Minister Richard Bruton has said that the company was within its rights to collect any money it is owed from outstanding bills.
According to the minister, “Irish Water is an independent agency who will have to collect the revenue that is due to them.”
Figure released recently revealed that less than 50pc of the bills issued were actually paid.
