The Government has called on restaurants to close by 11pm in order to prevent risk but have stopped short of implementing a curfew.
The call for strict operating times comes after the Government once again postponed the lifting of phae 4 restrictions for a further three weeks.
Speaking at the cabinet briefing the Taoiseach Micheal Martin said that no curfew will be introduced for restaurants but the advice would be that all restaurants close by 11pm in order to prevent risk.
He added that some restaurants were operating as pubs and that in turn causes further risk.
What we would like to see is all restaurants being closed at 11pm every night.
