The government have confirmed late last night that a special taskforce will be set up in the coming weeks to tackle a number of issues including gangland crime in Dublin’s North Inner City.
The news comes after a group local Councillors from the area held a meeting with the Taoiseach last night to organise a plan to set up the taskforce.
It is understood another meeting will be held next Wednesday with more community representatives to discuss future strategies for the area.
