Youth services attached to the St. Augustine’s School in Blackrock, Dublin, will not be withdrawn at the end of the month, after St. John of God was able to reverse the proposed cuts.
It is understood that a meeting took place between representatives of St. John of God and the HSE, the body that provides funding for the services.
As a result of this meeting, the proposed cuts to the vocational training and after-school life skills services will now not be implemented, and the programmes will continue as normal.
St. Augustine’s School provides services for youngster with autism, Down Syndrome, and other disorders.
