The Government has confirmed that they are increase Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Support payment from €203 to €350.
In announcement the Government said the increase will apply to those who have lost their job due to the outbreak.
It is understood the payment will also apply to the self employed, but all those on social welfare payments before the outbreak will continue to receive the same rate.
The increase comes after it was previously stated that the original payment was insufficient for those with large families.
