It has been revealed today that the Department of Social Protection will likely need extra resources to manage the €100 for households who sign up to Irish Water.
A letter written by the Secretary General of the Department of Social Protection states that the department will need further resources, including more staff, to manage the planned payment to Irish Water customers.
According to sources, this missive was written last November.
The letter also said that additional funding would be required to cover the mailing costs for every household in the country, explaining how to apply for the grant, and also the costs of running ads on the matter.
