
A recent survey showed that 48% of customers have let a voucher lapse at some point, which indicates how widespread the issue is.
The Government is set to introduce a new Consumer Rights Bill, to be unveiled today by Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton. The bill will also include legislation for statutory rights if something goes wrong for consumers who download or stream music, videos, or apps.
Mr. Bruton is hoping to have the legislation in place by the middle of next year.
