What’s being dubbed “government propaganda”, there’ll be 975 “new” Special Needs Assistant (SNA) posts across schools nationwide this September, the Minister for Education has confirmed.
What may not have been said is that it’s understood many of these SNA staff are already in schools.
The positions will be allocated from September to December.
The announcement comes as 8,000 SNAs reached a decision to ballot for strike action due to lack of job security.
