Government insist public sector pay talks won’t happen until the new year

The Government have once again reiterated it’s stance on the public pay crisis saying there is not enough money available this year.

The latest statement comes ahead of further discussions later today, when a number of senior figures will outline a new pay settlement for next year.

It is expected that Ministers will ignore a deadline of Thursday to agree to new pay demands, but instead focus on a revised Lansdowne Road Agreement that could by introduced early next year.
