Hero of the hour: Dog helps save five year old boy after he became trapped in a tumble dryer




A two year old dog in Co Down has become the hero of the hour after she amazingly helped save the life of a five-year-old boy with Downs Syndrome.

The heroic dog a cockapoo named Teddy came to the little Riley Duffy’s aid recently after she raised the alarm to her owner when after he got into a difficult situation.

The heroic dog who has captured the nations hearts, was first to respond after little Reilly locked himself inside an active tumble dryer in the utility room of his home.

Teddy who immediately sensed danger managed to raise the alarm after she spotted the young toddler trapped inside, by rushing upstairs and began barking loudly where Reilly’s mother Gillian Gedge-Duffy was hoovering.

Not sure what was going on the curious mum came downstairs and discovered to her horror that her son was going around and around in the tumble dryer. Thankfully she managed to get their in the nick of time and stop the machine and immediately called for an ambulance, which arrived in a matter of minutes.

The injured tot was quickly brought to the Ulster Hospital in Co Down where staff members were on standby to treat him. It is understood that little Reilly, suffered burns to areas including his head, back and arms.

However thankfully his family have revealed that he is in good spirits.
